Lili — Character Universe & World-building
A 7-day character design and storytelling project
This project was created during a 7-day world-building challenge, where each day explored a different part of Lili’s universe: who she is, what she carries, where she lives, who matters to her, what she fears, a day in her life, and the final scene.
Her skateboard is more than just something she loves — it also carries a special memory of her grandmother, Louise, who introduced her to the world of skateboarding.
The first step was to explore Lili’s personality through her design, poses, expressions, and color palette.

I wanted her to feel energetic, playful, and full of attitude.
Lili never leaves home without her skateboard.

Besides being what she loves most, it also holds a very special memory of her grandmother, Louise, who was a skateboarder too.

Her room was designed as a personal refuge — a cozy space with small messes, memories, her skateboard nearby, and her cat Timmy.

Grandma Louise is the emotional heart of the project. She introduced Lili to skateboarding and remains present through her memories.
Lili’s fear is not physical.
She is not afraid of falling off her skateboard — she is afraid of feeling her memories of Grandma Louise slowly fade with time.
For Lili, an ordinary day is full of movement, freedom, and her skateboard beneath her feet.

Every ride is also a way to stay connected to what she loves most.

The final scene brings together Lili’s world: her room, her city, her skateboard, Timmy, and the memories of Grandma Louise.

It represents Lili moving forward while carrying love, freedom, and memory with her.
Process
The project explores how visual development can transform an initial idea into a more emotional and complete narrative.
